What a find!  Being new to the idea of 'raw food' and becoming a vegetarian, we researched your cafe on the web before we visited Philadelphia.  It was worth the trip just to visit your cafe.  The food was wonderful - well prepared and full of flavor...and the folks there were helpful, nice and had a great disposition.  A winning combination!

Thought I'd let you know how much we, my sister and I, enjoyed our lunch.  We really did.  It had been a very stressful and awful day. The atmosphere and all the very interesting food  helped to get our minds off what we had just been going through.  Thanks.

Dear Kind Cafe staff,

We wanted to express our appreciation of the extremely fine dining experience we enjoyed last night at the Valentine event.  The room was attractive, comfortable, and romantic, the service was exceptional, and the food! - the food exceeded our expectations!  I believe (for us) the highlights were the tomato-mint and carrot-ginger soups and the croquettes with the nuts and parsnips.  everything was delicious, and the big surprise was how good the zucchini/beet raw dish was.  We ordered one raw meal and one cooked, so we could taste everything.  Not only did it taste delicious, but the presentation was beautiful.

I guess now we will have to start taking a couple of cooking classes so we can eat this well more often.

We hope the Kind Cafe experiences success and steady growth.  What you are doing for the health and pleasure of individuals and the community is fantastic.  We will encourage all our friends and family to give the Kind Cafe a try.

Sincerely,

Carol Winter and Winston Grizzard

It certainly was a pleasure to step into the world of "The Kind Cafe".  It was
truly a healthy experience.  I wish you all the best and will share my experience

Hi KC,

I had lunch at Kind cafe' with my daughter Zoe. I was inspired to give veganism a try. You mentioned that you give classes there. If you have classes on Tuesdays or Thursdays that would be terrific for me. I am always looking for healthier ways to eat. I especially would like to pass on to Zoe a passion for "kind" food so that it will come natural to her.  I would also love to learn about the raw diet you spoke of.  I hope I can get in for some classes. If not, I'm sure Zoe and I will be in to eat and pick your brain a bit.
By the way lunch was sooo good. See you soon.

Hi KC,

I came in friday... Bill Smith from the Natural Law party. Just wanted to say that i am very enthusiastic about your cafe , it is so important to have foods which we can eat with love, that pure part of ourselves that is consciousness ,is a ingredient in what we eat.  To think of killing a living creature to have a meal must really dampen our experience and our consciousness while cooking, to to be kind while cooking means to be loving, to have consciousness.   Its impossible to eat out  almost everything has maybe some eggs, or pizza sauce has meat in it, or maybe one can find some junk food, that is what it says it is junk food. Really to eat at kind was a real pleasure for me, now eating with consciousness might me possible, thank you.
It makes me so happy to see your yourself and the cooks at kind .. After eating the kind Philly steak i was floating , great taste , great consciousness.    congratulations on your restaurant, look very forward eating there again soon maybe on fridays.
I'll be around for lunch again.

Hey Guys (and gals)
How is everything going? Well I hope! California sucks and I can't wait to get back home. I must be put in these miserable places by design. Where is the California branch of the kind cafe? I had an "all natural" smoothie out here at some wanna be kind place and as I was watching this person make my drink I watched him pour "strawberry syrup" from a big white jug. Ummmm..... how natural is that?! When I asked about the product he showed the jug to me and claimed that all 9 million ingredients were "all natural".  Anyhow I am dying for kind smoothie!!!!!!! Be warm, stay cool, live, love and laugh! Miss ya KC and Lou!
Peace!

The Kind Cafe raises the bar for vegan restaurants in the city of brotherly love.  The food is absolutely fabulous.  I previously heralded the "Raw Truth" out in Vegas as the best restaurant I have ever visited, but it is no longer so.  K.C. has shown me that there is more to healthful eating than just veganism.  She is the kindest most peaceful person I have ever met.  Her kindness and peaceful nature emanate all through the establishment.  All the workers there are enthusiastic and helpful.  The banana/peanut butter desert wraps are the most delicious desert I have ever tasted in my life.  I cannot wait to take a cooking class there and learn some of the kind techniques.  KC's ideologies are making a proactive initiative to improve people's health and lifestyles.  I would suggest anyone that has an opportunity, visit the Kind Cafe.  Peace and kindness to all.

AHHHHHHHH!!!! I need kind food and fast. K. C.  I cannot wait to get home. I need real food. This living on the road thing is hard on the body and spirit. Plus I miss you guys! Things are great here as far as the project goes. BUT I have proof that the "Kind stuff" works. I cant fit into 3 out of five pairs of pants I brought with me. This is bad. I have gained at least 25 pounds since I have been off the kind way of life. To all the none believers..... KIND CAFE WORKS!!!!!!!!! I had lost a ton of weight in a short time and now I have gained it back since I have been off the kinder foods. Believe in K. C.  and she WILL make you happier and healthier!!!!! See you soon peoples!

Hey,
I hope all is well in Philly. I am sending you this because I think that what I am about to tell you is important for all to know and it may be something for the site. My race car driver that I followed and worked hard with for  many years died monday. He was 42 years old and appeared to be in good health. It turns out his his heart stoped in his sleep. He was a meat and potato kind of guy. This is proof that we are not indistructible at any age and that we all need to pay attention to what we eat and expose our bodies to. He is survived by two children and a his wife. Taking care of ourselves should be important not just for us but for the people around us that love and care for us because unltimately those are the ones who pay the price when we dont take care of our bodies. Lance Davis will be missed by the racing community back home and hopefully his end will bring some new beginings to others and the way they take care of themselves. I hope you can use some of this for the site as a way to help people understand.

Hi KC - I look forward to working with you and the Kind Crew in the upcoming months & years. Let's rock Philadelphia with the new Kind Hemp Pretzel from the Heart of Pennsylvania Dutch Country - Your patrons will love Hempzels - Peace always
Shawn Patrick House - Owner
Hempzel Pretzel Company - Lancaster, Pennsylvania

Just yesterday, at the 2003 WXPN Singer/Songwriter Festival, the folks at the Kind Cafe showed me that "kindness" is not only what they do but who they are. This kindness was manifested in an act that can be described as nothing less than generous. It was Sunday night, I was starving and feeling a little "low-blood-sugar" like, but I had run out of cash and the ATM machine at the festival was not working. I asked KC and the other folks at the Kind Cafe stand if they accepted credit cards (it was more like a statement: "Please tell me that you take credit cards." She said no but insisted that I take one of their rainbow wraps. I tried to say no but KC kept insisting. So I walked away from their stand with a DELICIOUS rainbow wrap, a Kind Cake (pumpkin and chocolate chips--YUM!), and a blackberry seltzer. I was so thankful to get some food in my stomach--and healthy food at that! It was delicious! As a result of the Kind Cafe's generosity, I left the Festival, and Philadelphia, feeling happy and thankful for the kindness that was shown to me that day. The food was yummy and I will remember this place the next time I come north. It's nice to know that the folks at the Kind Cafe are what they say they are...and are true to the message for which they are working so diligently.

KC you have changed my life like no other. For the love and compassion you have bestowed upon me I will be forever grateful. You have shown me a better way to live, now let's show others. These heartfelt words by Robert Hunter are for you :"In the attics of my life, full of cloudy dreams unreal. Full of tastes no tongue can know, and lights no eyes can see. When there was no ear to hear, you sang to me. I have spent my life seeking all that's still unsung. Bent my ear to hear the tune, and closed my eyes to see. When there was no strings to play, you played to me. In the book of love's own dream, where all the print is blood. Where all the pages are my days, and all the lights grow old. When I had no wings to fly, you flew to me, you flew to me. In the secret space of dreams, where I dreaming lay amazed. When the secrets all are told, and the petals all unfold. When there was no dream of mine, you dreamed of me." Thank you for all you do.
