Personal Coaching

Coaching is for those interested in an intensive, one-on-one lifestyle modification program.  The program involves making a contract, setting goals, and meeting weekly to facilitate rapid integration of principles of self healing.

Do you need a nutrition coach?

If you live in America, own a TV and don’t have a live-in chef, chances are you could use some help in navigating through the nutrition information jungle. If you’ve ever gone on a diet, eaten out of stress, experienced gas or bloating, have low energy, have a medical diagnosis or have experienced a slowdown in your metabolism as you’ve grown further and further away from your high school body... you are probably ready for a new member on your personal support team.

Whether you’re confused about supplements or just trying to figure out how to balance your calorie and nutritional needs, nutritional coaching can clear the confusion and help you make a plan.

KC McQuillan RN, MA, is a critical care nurse and a nutritionist with a decade of experience in coaching fitness and nutrition. Having lectured across the country and worked with Dr. Dean Ornish’s program for Reversing Heart Disease, she is the visionary, owner and operator of the Kind Café, a new healthy food eatery in Northern Liberties, Philadelphia. Teaching people how to enhance their health, prevent or reverse disease, experience mental clarity, increase energy, and feel peaceful and balanced is the focus of her whole foods based curriculum.

At your first coaching session, KC will help sort out your eating issues, habits and questions and will help you create a plan that’s easy to live with. KC will assess your current nutritional intake with regard to your goals and ideal nutrition for optimal health.

You’ll discuss lifestyle issues, and KC will make recommendations that will
lead to strategies to accomplish your goals.

Goals can be as varied as weight loss, weight gain, energy increase, improved athletic performance, improved health or disease prevention (e.g., diabetes or heart disease). At your follow-up appointments, you’ll review your accomplishments and address problem areas, and you’ll create a strategy that will allow you to stay focused on your long-term goals.

Sessions may include: computerized diet analysis, kitchen remodeling (visit to clients house to remove old food choices and replace with healthier alternatives), recipe make-over (reworking favorite recipes to enhance nutrition), cooking instruction, guided shopping trip to favorite food store, restaurant visit (to practice healthy ordering), sessions with yoga therapist, Pilates instructor or personal trainer, or other coaching tactics deemed helpful by the coach.

Teens, children as well as adults are encouraged to use this service.
